Middlebury College skiers fare well at their own winter carnival

The Middlebury College ski team finished third in this past Friday and Saturday’s Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association championships, which were held at the Middlebury College Snowbowl and Rikert Outdoor Center in conjunction with the college’s winter carnival.

This weekend is the 100th Middlebury Winter Carnival and I find myself absorbed, perhaps ironically given the above, by Middlebury ski history and culture.

When Patricia Palmer was a student at Middlebury College in the 1950s, the third weekend in February was one to remember.
