VUHS baseball walks to victory

Sometimes it’s what you don’t do that matters. On Tuesday, Vergennes Union High School baseball players chose not to swing at pitches out of the strike zone.

The host Mount Abraham Union High School earned solid victories on Tuesday in both the girls’ and boys’ sides in a three-team track and field meet attended by Vergennes and smaller Randolph contingent.

The Mount Abraham-Vergennes cooperative girls’ lacrosse team lost two road games late last week dropping their early-season mark to 0-3.

The Vergennes Union High School teams that played ball sports in the spring of 2024 had mixed levels of success in the regular season.

Ten members of the girls’ basketball teams at Middlebury, Mount Abraham, Vergennes and Otter Valley union high schools have received postseason recognition.
