Commodore boys’ soccer loses on penalty kicks

Visiting No. 6 seed Thetford on Friday, Oct. 24, knocked the No. 3 Vergennes boys’ soccer team out of the Division III playoffs.

The Commodores are the highest-seeded team left in the D-III postseason.

The big news in high school girls’ soccer this fall has been the Vergennes team, which finished 13-1 and earned the No. 2 seed in Division III.

The MUHS boys’ soccer team earned the No. 1 seed in Division II and earned a bye into the quarterfinal round.

The MAUHS girls’ soccer team beat previously undefeated VUHS, 3-2.

The Middlebury, Mount Abraham and Vergennes boys’ high school soccer teams all picked up at least one victory in the past week.
