In the finale of this summer’s Vermont Sun Triathlon Series on Sunday, Noel Mulkey of Saint Albans held off a hard-charging Kyle Friis of Middlebury to win the Olympic distance Lake Dunmore Triathlon (1,600-yard swim, 28-mile bike, 6.2-mile run).
