Letter to the editor: Taxes owed on former school?

It seems that the church should also be paying taxes on the former school rather than letting it sit as an abandoned eyesore and preventing infill development in a village area that sorely needs additional housing.

Officials cited a legal opinion that the property would be taxable based on its new use.

Christmas was a little sweeter this year for the Turning Point Center of Addison County and other area nonprofits that thanks to big federal grants that will help advance major community projects that were on their wish lists.
