Monkton’s Russell Memorial Library is launching its Armchair Adventure series with a talk by Ivor Hughes, who will discuss his backpacking trip retracting gold rush routes through Yukon Territory.

Budding and aspiring authors should plan on attending the presentation, “So, you want to write a book” on Thursday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m., at the Russell Memorial Library in Monkton. The speakers will be Eugenie Doyle and Ivor Hughes.

Tournesol had to reschedule their planned February concert with the Five Town Friends of the Arts “Winter Into Spring Musical Library Tour.” The new performance will take place on June 20, at the Russell Memorial Library, 92 Monkton Ridge Rd in Monkton.

Since taking over as lead librarian nearly 38 years ago, Chamberlin has helped the Monkton public library transition away from card catalog, weather a global pandemic and move into a larger space.

Two libraries in the 5-town area are looking to fill leadership positions in the coming months. 

Monkton’s Russell Memorial Library has started a new workshop series that will teach residents how to repair, revamp and reimagine items in their closet.

Ashley Wolff, beloved children’s book author, illustrator, and local artist will be at Russell Memorial Library, 92 Monkton Ridge Road in Monkton on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m., for a special story time.

Jim Geier of Vermont Folk Rocker in Starksboro made a very generous donation of one of his hand-crafted Birds-Eye Maple rocking chairs to the Russell Memorial Library on June 30.
