Vergennes police log: Weekly No Kings protesters allegedly threatened

A man allegedly accelerated, revved his car’s engine and swerved toward two protesters during a weekly No Kings Protest on Main Street in Vergennes on Saturday, March 21, according to the local police department.  

One Brandon man was killed and another was taken to the hospital with serious injuries as the result of a car crash in Orwell late Sunday afternoon.

Vt. Translines driver had to make a pitstop at the Vergennes Police Department due to altercation on the bus.

Middlebury police launched an investigation into a March 10 burglary at the Maplefields store on Route 7 South, during which the culprit(s) broke into the building at around 2:45 a.m. and removed an ATM machine.

An Addison County Sheriff’s Department deputy stopped by a daycare in Middlebury on March 10 and spoke to the kids there. Later in the week, on March 13, a deputy spoke during Career Day activities at Otter Valley Union High School in Brandon.

Police and other officials responded to a one-car accident on Main Street.
