Middlebury College skiers fare well at their own winter carnival

The Middlebury College ski team finished third in this past Friday and Saturday’s Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association championships, which were held at the Middlebury College Snowbowl and Rikert Outdoor Center in conjunction with the college’s winter carnival.

In recent Middlebury College sports action, the women’s hockey and basketball teams each won twice and remained near the top of the NESCAC standings, while men’s hockey and basketball each picked up one victory.

Overall it wasn’t a bad week for Middlebury College athletic teams, as women’s basketball picked up a big NESCAC victory, men’s hockey earned a home win and tie, women’s hockey took two out of three, and men’s basketball split two games.

The combined Middlebury College alpine and Nordic ski team finished third this past weekend at the Colby Carnival with 729 points, trailing only Dartmouth with 912.5 points and Vermont with 783 points.
