Monkton history comes alive thanks to three active residents

Around two years ago, Monkton residents Candace Polzella, Lauren Parren and Cindy Walcott embarked on a quest to learn more about the history of the town they call home.

Many projects and events are still going on at the Russell Memorial Library. The Homeschooling Group continues on the last Friday of the month, being Oct. 27 for this month from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Monkton’s Russell Memorial Library has started a new workshop series that will teach residents how to repair, revamp and reimagine items in their closet.

In a presentation sponsored by the Monkton Conservation Commission, ecological consultants from Arrowwood Environmental of Huntington will talk about the unique natural resources and habitats of Monkton.

The Monkton Scouts are hosting a Big Truck Day at Morse Park from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23. You will be able to check out these big rigs, cool cars, radical rides and awesome antiques.
