MAUSD aims to meet budget target without staff cuts

The Mount Abraham Unified School District Board has narrowed in on a budget target for the upcoming fiscal year, and district officials will look to meet that target without reducing staff positions other than those absorbed through attrition. 

The school board will evaluate several scenarios: keeping all schools open, operating two elementary schools and a regional middle/high school and operating a regional middle/high school and two elementary schools with grade banding.

School boards are weighing in on the future of education in Vermont.

The MAUSD board ecently dove deeper into the options that it’s been exploring for educational delivery in the district, but opted to wait until the board’s meeting next week to determine which options it will advance for further study.
