Eagle boys’ soccer falls in OT in final

The finest Mount Abraham boys’ soccer season in a dozen years did not end the way the Eagles had hoped.

The Eagles posted their sixth straight shutout this season.

The 6th-seeded Mount Abraham girls’ soccer team exited the Division II playoffs on Saturday after losing a heartbreaking penalty kick shootout to host No. 3 U-32.

The Middlebury, Mount Abraham and Vergennes boys’ high school soccer teams all picked up at least one victory in the past week.

Middlebury and Mount Abraham battled to a tie, and Vergennes remained unbeaten in recent high school girls’ soccer action.

Mount Abraham topped Middlebury in Bristol to highlight local high school boys’ soccer action in the past week.

In recent high school girls’ soccer action, Vergennes picked up two more victories to remain unbeaten, Mount Abraham earned a tie and a win in two road games, and Middlebury dropped two contests.

The undefeated Vergennes Union High School girls’ soccer team rolled to the only victory among the Addison County high school squads in recent games.

Local boys’ soccer teams all found success in recent games.
