Thomas Munschauer showcases new paintings in upcoming exhibit

Retired veterinarian Thomas Munschauer will open an exhibit of new paintings at the Jackson Gallery in Middlebury on Nov. 7.

Textile art by Westport, N.Y., artist Cynthia Schira will go up for viewing at the Jackson Gallery in Middlebury beginning Sept. 19.

Courtney Allenson’s “Hand Carved Block Prints” will be on display April 11-May 24 at the Jackson Gallery, in the lower level of the Town Hall Theater in downtown Middlebury. An opening reception will be held on Friday, April 11, from 5-7 p.m.

‏Mary and Fred Lower are spouses who share a painting studio in Middlebury. Cousins Judy Albright and Cristine Kossow live across the street from each other. Sisters Jennifer Steele Cole and Elinor Steele Friml grew up in Charlotte in a family of artists.

‏Leigh Harder was “initially inspired as a young artist to try to catch the particular blue of the changing twilight sky, what is commonly referred to as ‘the blue hour,’” she said.

Tom Munschauer has a new avocation, but to call it a hobby would be understating the time and dedication he devotes to his art.
