MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police responded, along with Middlebury firefighters, to a reported fire at the banks of the Otter Creek near the Marble Works property off Maple Street on Monday, Aug. 26. Police said the fire damaged a homeless encampment. Police said no one was injured and they are investigating the case as a potential arson fire.
