Beaney to retire as golf coach — after NCAAs

Middlebury College men’s golf coach Bill Beaney, also the college’s former longtime men’s hockey coach, will retire from the golf program he has led for 36 years at the end of this academic year.

Men’s golf team earns league crown

The Middlebury College men’s golf team posted a 15-stroke victory in this past Saturday and Sunday’s NESCAC championship tournament, hosted by Bates at the Martindale Country Club in Auburn.

Middlebury, Mount Abraham and Vergennes golfers competed at the Sept. 28 NVAC tournament hosted by the Williston Country Club and won by Rice with a collective score of 323 for its top four golfers.

Karl Lindholm: Middlebury’s first family of golf

Paul Politano hardly played golf at all growing up in southern Vermont. “My dad never let me play,” he said in a conversation last week outside the golf shop at Middlebury’s Ralph Myhre Golf Course, where Paul has been the golf pro since 2017.
