Adams achieves Scouting gold award

In the community of Monkton, a rural town with no real center, the “dump,” or recycling center, often serves as a place for people to meet and catch up as they deposit their trash and recyclables. Thanks to Gold Award Girl Scout Natalie Adams, doing so is now safer, with new platforms between dumpsters.

What began as a way to give her own daughter the Girl Scout experience has led one woman to provide the enrichment and friendship of Girl Scouts to many more in Vergennes.

Patricia McNerney earned Girl Scouting’s highest honor with her project, Outdoor Classroom, the capstone to her Girl Scout experience. She graduated from Mount Abraham Union High School on June 10. 

When Ursula Olender “aged out” as a Girl Scout, she knew she wasn’t done.

Cassandra Guillemette’s work has been recognized with the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor a high schooler in Girl Scouts may earn.
