Letter to the editor: County fortunate to have abundance of volunteers

The Addison Independent Volunteer section every spring is always so enjoyable to read — to see how many people are out there giving their time to supporting others.

As I was listening to President Biden’s recent speech with tears in my eyes, I was so glad to see him talking straight to all of us in such inclusive terms.

We adopted Arlo from Homeward Bound in early December and immediately fell in love.

I have a suggestion for next holiday season: instead of inviting children to send in their letters to Santa, how about asking them to send a letter listing the things they want to do for others? Maybe include adults also. Thanks for being such a terrific … (read more)
