Letter to the editor: Local police are a boon to area

After just reading the January 16 issue of the Addison Independent, I am struck by two articles. One is about the Middlebury Police Department letting people sleep on the floor of their station when they have nowhere to go. The other is about the Vergennes Police Department replacing a flag that was stolen from the home of a family who was flying it in honor of a loved one and veteran who had died.

We are so fortunate to have people like these as members of our law enforcement. One of so many reasons why it is so great to be living in Addison County.

Thank you.
