Bristol cop resigns following remarks

A law enforcement officer with ties to Addison County has resigned from his post at the Bristol Police Department and other agencies in the state following remarks he made during a Vermont Criminal Justice Council meeting on Feb. 7.

After months of exploring the possibility of building an addition for the Bristol Police Department onto the town’s fire station, the Bristol selectboard on Monday got a glimpse of what that addition could look like. 

Bristol police and town officials conducted a public hearing on the Bristol Police District budget for fiscal year 2024 during Monday’s regular selectboard meeting at Holley Hall. 

The Bristol selectboard has accepted a proposal from Cushman Design Group to study the feasibility of building an addition for the Bristol Police Department onto the town’s fire station.

The Bristol Police Chief is asking the selectboard to find money for a mental health counselor to help out on some Bristol police calls.
