The storied Bread Loaf Writers’ conference celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. From Aug. 13-23, free lectures and readings will be open to the public at Bread Loaf’s Little Theater in Ripton.
Middlebury College’s 104-year-old Bread Loaf campus is a scenic bastion of serenity and creativity. But that Rockwellian portrait was momentarily shattered by a senseless act of racism at around 7:10 p.m. on Sunday, June 30.
Community members are invited to Middlebury College’s Bread Loaf Campus this Friday and Saturday to hear from students in Vermont and other parts of the country working to tackle various issues and enact social change in their communities.
The Middlebury Bread Loaf Translators’ Conference and Bread Loaf Environmental Writer’s Conference will each offer free lectures and readings to the public when they are in session June 2-7.
