OV’s power prevails as MUHS improves

The Otter Valley field hockey team defeated Middlebury Union field hockey team 6-2 on Tuesday.

The three county girls’ soccer teams all won at least once in the past week.

In boys’ soccer action in the past week, Middlebury Union High School broke into the win column in a big way, and Mount Abraham settle for a home deadlock. 

Proposed changes in Vergennes zoning laws would conditionally allow retail uses in the city’s Historic Neighborhood District and residential uses in the Commercial District.

The property next to the Ferrisburgh Town Hall is now under the town’s control.

The Middlebury Union High School football team defeated Essex in its season opener, 21-14.

In local high school girls’ volleyball action in the past week, Middlebury opened its season by winning twice in three outings, while varsity newcomer Mount Abraham prevailed once in three matches. 

The Mount Abraham girls’ volleyball team won their first match as an official varsity sport.

Vergennes and Panton residents continue to discuss the impact of a possible new boundary between the two communities.

Vergennes property tax rates for the current fiscal year dropped across the board.

Ferrisburgh homeowners are seeing a small drop in property tax rates this fiscal year, but non-residential owners are seeing an increase.
