ATMs stolen from three Middlebury stores

The thefts, according to Covey, have all occurred during the early morning hours and the culprit(s) have followed a similar method of smashing their way into the buildings for quick access and escape.

Middlebury police were informed at 4:10 a.m. this past Sunday, March 22, of a burglary at the Champlain Farms store on Court Street.

Officers on March 11 received a report of a dog attack that took place in Bristol. Police also received two animal complaints — one on Vincent Drive on March 10 and the other on Stoney Hill Road on March 11.

An Addison County Sheriff’s Department deputy stopped by a daycare in Middlebury on March 10 and spoke to the kids there. Later in the week, on March 13, a deputy spoke during Career Day activities at Otter Valley Union High School in Brandon.

Twenty-eight-year-old Michael Guess, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, was a passenger in the vehicle driven by Aron G. Therrien, 27.

Both men arrested were Berlin residents.
