Vermont State Police Log: Leicester man held on $250,000 bail

A man captured by Vermont State Police in Leicester last week must post very large bail if he wants to get out of jail before trial.

Addison County Sheriff’s Department deputies on Dec. 12 attempted to find a vehicle that came over the Champlain Bridge on Route 17 and had lost three tires on a trailer it was towing.

Middlebury police cited Ronald A. Dragon, 52, of Ripton for driving under the influence, following a stop at the intersection of Court Street and Creek Road on Dec. 14.

When police were called to Leicester for a camper blocking the road last Friday morning it ended up with them putting a man in jail with bail set at $25,000.

On Friday night, Dec. 5, department officers conducted a city-wide patrol due to below-freezing temperatures, in particular looking for disabled vehicles with operators in need of aid.  

Deputies from the Addison County Sheriff’s Department observed a car speeding over 80 mph in Cornwall and attempted to pull it over.

Middlebury police arrested Kevin Odell, 47, of Middlebury on outstanding warrants, including for fentanyl sales and distribution with death resulting.

A driver fled deputies from the Addison County Sheriff’s Department when he tried to stop her in Cornwall. Eventually he caught up with and arrested her.

Vermont State Police are asking for help finding the two people who broke into the Four Corners Store in Addison on Nov. 22.

An alert Vermont state trooper from Addison County, who was on special foot patrol in downtown Burlington this past Friday, is credited with the apprehension of a dangerous Bristol driver.

Vergennes police on Nov. 28 arrested a local man and a woman, whom they described as homeless, for a series of thefts.

Middlebury police cited Patrick Cota Jr., 32, of Bristol, for attempting to elude police, negligent operation, driving with a criminally suspended license, and violation of his conditions of release.

In separate incidents this past week, Vermont State Police stopped two cars and cited the drivers for drug-related crimes.

Vermont State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a white pickup truck that drove off Gore Road in Starksboro sometime on Nov. 23 and then struck a vehicle parked in a driveway and drove away

Bristol police on Nov. 14 attempted to stop two ATVs driving on Burpee Road unsafely.
