DR. GENEVIEVE WILLIAMSON

MIDDLEBURY – The Counseling Service of Addison County (CSAC) has announced the appointment of Dr. Genevieve Williamson to the position of child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist and Medical Director of Youth and Family Services. Dr. Williamson most recently served as an inpatient psychiatrist at the University of Vermont Medical Center and assistant professor of Psychiatry at the Robert Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont.

“I am very happy to welcome my friend and colleague Dr. Genevieve Williamson to the Counseling Service of Addison County,” said Dr. Joe Lasek, CSAC’s Medical Director. “I have long considered Dr. Williamson to be one of the best psychiatrists in the state of Vermont and have long hoped that I would have the opportunity to work with her side-by-side.  We are extremely lucky to have a physician with her wealth of knowledge, skills, experience and humanistic approach here in Addison County, where she will be serving children, adolescents and adults.”

CSAC Executive Director Rachel Lee Cummings added, “We are incredibly pleased to have Dr. Williamson join our staff. She is a talented, compassionate medical professional who is well matched to CSAC’s culture, psychiatric philosophies, and commitment to the health of Addison County’s residents.”

“I have been filled with appreciation for the person-centered focus and dedication of CSAC’s highly skilled team,” said Williamson. “I have especially loved training with several CSAC team members over the last five-plus years in Open Dialogue, an approach that has enriched every aspect of my life and clinical work. I am looking forward to learning from and working with CSAC to promote wellness in our community.”

Dr. Williamson is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley. She received her Doctorate in Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed residency in Psychiatry and fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
