American Legion, Eagles support city fireworks
VERGENNES — Thanks to the Vergennes American Legion and the Addison County Eagles, there will be fireworks in Vergennes on July 3.
In addition to the fireworks, the Vergennes City Band under the direction of Susan O’Daniel will be set up on the parade field and will play a number of grand ole tunes all ready for the holiday. In addition, the Vergennes Union High School Friends of Music will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers and cold soda.
The best place to view the fireworks, which will begin around 9:30 p.m., will be behind the high school or over at the Vergennes Elementary School. Restroom facilities are available behind the high school.
Plenty of free parking will be available in Vergennes, and the fireworks can be seen from almost anywhere in the city.
