Learn about the history of bicycling at Sheldon museum talks

MIDDLEBURY — Vintage bicycle collector and cycling historian Glenn Eames will present four gallery talks about the exhibit “Pedaling Through History: 150 years of the Bicycle, The Glenn Eames Collection at the Sheldon Museum.” The talks will take place on Wednesdays, July 27, Aug. 17 and Oct. 5 at noon, and on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 1 p.m.
Eames not only brings a world-class collection to the Museum for your enjoyment, but in-depth historical knowledge and passion, and just as importantly critical appreciation of the design, beauty and engineering of the bicycles. His historic photographs and bike-related accessories included in the exhibit add a wonderful perspective to the history of the bicycle. The gallery talks are included with museum admission (Sheldon Museum members and Historic New England members are free).
Talks are limited to 20 people; please reserve a spot by calling the Sheldon at 802-388-2117. The exhibit runs through Oct. 16, 2016. For more information, visit www.HenrySheldonMuseum.org. The Sheldon Museum is located at One Park St., across from the Ilsley Public Library.
