Visiting Wasps top Otter boys’ hoops

BRANDON — Visiting Woodstock rallied for a 56-50 victory over the Otter Valley Union High School boys’ basketball team on Tuesday night.
The loss dropped OV to 8-5, while Woodstock improved to 6-6. As of Wednesday morning, the teams were Nos. 7 and 8, respectively, in the Vermont Principals’ Association Division II standings.
The Otters held a 36-22 lead in the second half that the Wasps erased with a 15-0 run. OV never recovered offensively, and Woodstock hit its late free throws to salt away the win. Caleb Webb scored 21 for Woodstock, 13 in the fourth quarter.
Derek Aines, Josh Letourneau and Dylan Mackie each scored 13 for OV, which will host D-I Brattleboro on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
