Part of Middlebury Main Street closing for bridge work this Friday

MIDDLEBURY  — On Friday, July 21, Main Street in downtown Middlebury will be closed between Seymour Street and Merchants Row due to temporary bridge construction, transportation officials announce.
The road will be closed for about two weeks to enable the Vermont Agency of Transportation to build a temporary bridge over the railroad to ensure the safety of travelers until a permanent bridge is built in 2018 through 2020.
VTrans has established a project website, vtrans.vermont.gov/projects/middlebury, to provide information about the project.
The town of Middlebury also has a community liaison, Jim Gish, who has a blog, middleburybridges.org.
