NORTH CLARENDON — Host Mill River used big first and fourth quarters on Tuesday to post a 62-41 victory over the Mount Abraham Union High School boys’ basketball team.
The Minutemen outscored the Eagles, 20-7, in the opening period on the way to a 31-16 lead at the half, and then surged in the fourth quarter after Mount Abe cut MRU’s lead to 10 early in the period.
Brian Eaton (16) and Zach Ames (13) led four Minutemen in double figures.
Eagle forward Jackson Counter led all scorer with 20 points, and Logan Rodriguez chipped in 10 for Mount Abe, which was set to host Winooski on Wednesday (after the deadline for the Independent) and then Randolph on Dec. 27. Next up for the Eagles after that contest is a visit to Otter Valley on Jan. 3.
