Letter to the editor: Forlenza is a top choice in Addison-4 primary
In the Aug. 14 primary Addison-4 voters are fortunate to have four well-intentioned Democrats seeking to fill two seats representing the district in the Vermont General Assembly. The winners of this contest will face Republicans, incumbent Fred Baser and hopeful Valerie Mullin.
Of the four Democrats just one stands out for having experienced grass roots governing as a Selectboard member. I’ve had the privilege to work with Paul Forlenza on the Lincoln Selectboard for nearly six years. During this time, Paul has thoughtfully listened to citizen opinions and collaborated well with fellow Selectboard members to best use limited resources to get the job done and keep moving forward.
Paul understands that local government is closest to the voter and will carry his awareness of local needs and limitations as our representative in the legislature. Paul’s local experience puts him a big step ahead of his opponents in the primary. We have a unique opportunity to keep our two seats in the legislature filled with local experience and sensitivity. We can all be well represented by electing Paul Forlenza and re-electing Fred Baser. Please vote on Aug. 14.
