Girls’ hockey prevails, falls

SOUTH BURLINGTON — The Middlebury Union High School girls’ hockey team split two games late last week and stands at 10-6 entering the final two weeks of play. The Tigers’ Feb. 13 game at Harwood was postponed; no makeup date has been announced.
On Friday host South Burlington topped the Tigers, 5-1. Mia Angwin scored twice, while the Wolves’ Kate Hall picked up a goal and three assists to reach the 100-point plateau. SB goalie Lyssa Tan made 24 saves. Avery Gale scored for MUHS, with an assist from Anna McIntosh.
On Saturday the Tigers blanked host U-32, 6-0, as goalie Lydia Deppman worked the nine-save shutout.
Gale scored twice, and Aleta Mathers contributed a goal and three assists for the Tigers. Nyna Cole, Taylor Moulton and Audrey Tembreull also scored for MUHS. Raider goalie Brianna Rich stopped 16 shots.
