BRISTOL — The Inn at Baldwin Creek & Mary’s Restaurant in Bristol kicked off their summer movie series, “Musicals through the Decades,” on Friday, July 26 with “Singin’ in the Rain.” The series will continue for the next four consecutive Friday nights — that’s through Aug. 23 — at 7:15 p.m. Admission is free.
Enjoy dinner before the show. Arrive by 6 p.m. to receive a 10 percent discount on your food with reserved VIP seating for the movie. Drinks and dessert may be enjoyed in the Red Barn during the movie.
“We’ve been doing this for five years now,” said Linda Harmon, co-owner of Mary’s Restaurant and Inn at Baldwin Creek., “Each summer we do a different theme. In the past we’ve done foodie films, classic noir films, blondes and brunettes, female directors and producers… this year it’s ‘musicals through the decades,’ and the films run the gamut from ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ to ‘Blindspotting.’”
Harmon and the Inn’s bartender Jay Dubberly, spearhead the movie series together.
“After Deb Gwinn stopped doing Shakespeare in the Barn events here (in the summer of 2014), we wanted to do something that would continue to use the space to bring the community in — that’s how ‘Movies in the Red Barn’ started,” Harmon said.
