Orwell offers Revolutionary stories for young children
ORWELL — Children ages 6 to 10 are welcome to come for an hour of Revolutionary story time on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the Mount Independence State Historic Site in Orwell. The program runs from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The program, sponsored in collaboration with the Orwell Free Library, will include stories, hands-on activities, simple crafts, and some outdoor time if the weather permits.
The theme is the American Revolution and history of Mount Independence. Children who attend need to be accompanied by a responsible adult, and organizers recommend bringing snacks or a picnic to enjoy afterwords. The program is jointly sponsored by the historic site and Orwell Free Library. A family donation of $5 is suggested. Call 802-948-2000 for more information.
