History hike set for Oct. 8

Mount Independence State Historic Site in Orwell will host a Hike into History on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. Stephen Zeoli, president of the Mount Independence Coalition, will guide participants a tour around the site.

The Mount Independence State Historic Site in Orwell will host a special program, “Conserving History, One Artifact at a Time,” on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 1 p.m.

Mushroom expert Meg Madden is back at the Mount Independence State Historic Site in Orwell to lead another of her popular mushroom exploration walks.

Mount Independence State Historic Site in Orwell will host a “Hike into History” guide walk on Sunday, Aug. 7, from noon to 3 p.m.

On Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 2 p.m. two characters from the Revolutionary War in Vermont will come back to the Mount Independence State Historic Site in Orwell for a time-traveling interview.

Come to the Mount Independence State Historic Site in Orwell, on Saturday, June 4, 2022, for a guided history walk from 1 to 4 p.m. This is one of many special walks across the country to celebrate National Trails Day.

Many of the historic objects are fragments of necessary items used by the soldiers at Mount Independence.
