ADDISON COUNTY — Many members of the Middlebury, Mount Abraham/Vergennes, and Otter Valley high school football teams earned postseason recognition from Division I, II and III coaches.
Three Tigers earned First Team D-I recognition, two of them on both offense and defense, Tyler Buxton and Trysten Quesnel. Buxton was honored both as a running back and defensive back, and Quesnel as an offensive and defensive lineman. Thatcher Trudeau joined them on the first team as a linebacker.
Three Otters earned First Team D-III honors. Jared Denis was recognized as both an offensive and defensive lineman, and he was joined by Chance Passmore as a wide receiver and Cody Anderson as a defensive back.
Seven Tigers made it to D-I Second Team, three of them as two-way players, Ian Ploof as a running back and a linebacker, Bode Rubright as a tight end and defensive lineman, and Zach Bean as a defensive back and punter. Also named to the Second Team were Jack Rizzo as an offensive lineman, Trudeau as a fullback, and Gabe Dunn and Mason Kaufmann as defensive backs.
One Eagle made the D-II Second Team, Adam Mansfield as a kicker.
Four Otters were named to the D-III second team, quarterback Alex Polli, wide receiver Brady Diaz, Denis as a linebacker, and tight end David Williams.
Tigers earning D-I Honorable Mention were Nikolai Luksch as a kicker and defensive lineman, offensive lineman Colin Bradford, defensive linemen Matt Kiernan, Bean as a wide receiver, and Dunn as a running back.
Eagles receiving D-II Honorable Mention were Jon Lapell as an offensive and defensive lineman, Carmelo Miceli as a wide receiver, Ryan Stoddard as an offensive lineman, Jon Bent as a linebacker, and Joey Hemingway as a defensive back.
In D-III Otter earning Honorable Mention were Nathaniel Blake as a running back and returner, offensive lineman Jack Zelbar, Williams as a defensive back, and defensive lineman Spencer Pelkey.
