SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The Middlebury College men’s basketball team won a pair of games on the road in New York late last week to improve to 5-0. The Panthers were ranked No. 13 in NCAA Division III last week and were set to play at Johnson State on Tuesday after the early holiday deadline for this issue. 
The Panthers will visit Endicott this coming Sunday. The status of senior forward Matt Folger is uncertain for that game. Folger sprained his ankle vs. SUNY-Canton on Nov. 21 and missed this past Saturday’s game. 
On this past Saturday the Panthers picked up a 73-56 victory at Skidmore (0-3).
The Thoroughbreds took an early 10-3 lead, but the Panthers responded with a 14-2 run and gradually stretched their advantage to 32-20 at the half. Skidmore cut the lead to 11 immediately after the break, but came no closer the rest of the way. 
Max Bosco paced the Panthers with 18 points, to go along with six rebounds. Jack Farrell netted 15 points and added five boards, Tommy Eastman chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds, and Alex Sobel posted 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
Greg Skoric led Skidmore with 14 points to go along with eight rebounds. Middlebury shot 53.6 percent from the floor, limited the Thoroughbreds to 35.5 percent, and held a 15-0 advantage in fast-break points.
On Thursday at SUNY-Canton (3-3) the Panthers opened the game with a 19-4 run and were never seriously threatened in an 89-68 victory. Ryan Cahill sparked the fast start with 12 points in the initial 4:05, including three treys and a conventional three-point play. He finished with a career-high 15 points and a team-high six boards. 
Farrell led Middlebury with 17 points, while Bosco chipped in 13 points and Eastman had 12. Griffin Kornaker contributed eight points and a game-high seven assists.
Seven-footer Andrew Fitch led Canton with 16 points and eight boards.
