Granville house fire claims a life
GRANVILLE — A Granville resident was killed in a house fire early Sunday morning.
State police have not positively identified the remains of the victim. The Granville Fire Department reported that one resident of the home, 37-year-old Nathan Twitchell, was unaccounted for.
The Granville Fire Department and other area departments responded to a 4:30 a.m. report of a fire at 210 Post Office Hill Road in Granville on Sunday.

The remains were sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Burlington for autopsy to try to determine the cause and manner of death, as well as to identify the remains.
Members of the Vermont State Police Field Force Division, Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit, and Department of Fire Safety went to the scene to investigate on Sunday.
Vermont State Police ask anyone with information regarding the fire to contact either Det. Sgt. Thomas McCoy of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation or Det. Sgt. Steven Otis of the Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit. Both officers can be reached at 802-722-4600.
