MUHS boys’ hockey bests Colchester, 3-1

MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School boys’ hockey team on Saturday picked up its fourth win in five outings, 3-1 over visiting Colchester. The 5-4 Tigers will host Essex (5-1-1) at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
The Tigers took a 2-0 first-period lead on power-play goals by Bode Rubright, assisted by Ryan Nadeau, and Andy Giorgio, set up by Hale Hescock and Robbie Bicknell.
Colchester’s Jake Corman made it 2-1 at 12:17 of the second period, but with 16 seconds left in the period Daniel Hodsden netted an insurance goal, from Rubright.
Tiger goalie Zeke Hooper made 15 saves, and Colchester goalie Hunter Baker made 25 saves.
