Bristol Beverage secures deal as town’s new spirits vendor
BRISTOL — Bristol’s “802 Spirits” retail liquor agency has changed to a new location.
Adam LaPerle of Bristol Beverage, which is located at 21 Prince Lane, has acquired a license from the Department of Liquor and Lottery to be the town’s official liquor retailer. As of Jan. 31, Bristol’s “802 Spirits” agent, the Champlain Farms next to Holley Hall, no longer sells liquor.
A license must be obtained from the state to operate a retail liquor store.
LaPerle had been pursuing a license for a number of years, said Bristol selectboard member Ian Albinson. When the state requested submissions in Addison County, LaPerle successfully completed the application process.
Albinson called the new “802 Spirits” location a “win” for Bristol Beverage and for the town.
There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Feb. 19.
