Monkton news for Dec. 10

MONKTON — The East Monkton Church Association’s Celebration of Christmas will not be held in the usual format at the East Monkton Church this year. However, the East Monkton Church Association has planned alternatives.
The Association has created holiday cards to help people stay connected with family and friends. Each card features a photograph taken at a past Celebration of Christmas on the front and is blank inside for your personal message. The cards are large (5 ½ x 8 ½ inches), but still only require a 55-cent postage stamp to mail. Pictures of the front of the cards can be seen at the link below. Samples of the four cards can be seen at the 1859 Town Hall, where they will be posted on the bulletin board to the left of the front door. Cards can be ordered on-line, at a cost of $2 each, at the following link: tinyurl.com/monkton-cards. The deadline to place an order is Wednesday, Dec. 16. All proceeds from the sale of the cards will help meet our yearly expenses.
In lieu of the popular in-person gathering and music, the East Monkton Church Association will join with the Monkton Friends Methodist Church in sponsoring a Zoom gathering for caroling and instrumental music on Sunday, Dec. 20, at 4 p.m. Stay tuned for more details.
