PANTON — Barbara Ann Pratt of Panton, Vt., passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, at the age of 96.
Barbara was born in Williston, Vt. Sept. 21, 1930, to Raymond and Grace Merchant. Barbara graduated from Burlington High School. After high school she went to work at Mary Fletcher Hospital in the Histology and Pathology department until she retired.
She enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting. She also did some traveling with her sister Nancy. She had an opportunity to go to Hawaii with her brother-in-law, Peter Pratt and his wife, Judy.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bob Pratt; her parents, Raymond and Grace Merchant; her sister Betty Boutin; and her sister Iris Trayah.
She leaves behind a daughter, Ann (Ed) Rivers; a granddaughter, Sara (Chris) McKirryher; a grandson, Travis Phillips; and great-grandson Will Phillips and his fiancée, Heather Johnson. She also leaves a sister, Nancy Bates.
There will be a private graveside service for immediate family.
