Rebel field hockey edges Eagles

BRISTOL — Defending Division I champion South Burlington defeated the host Mount Abraham Union High School field hockey team on Tuesday, 2-1. The Rebels improved to 5-0 with their first win by fewer than two goals, while the Eagles dropped to 3-3 and saw a three-game winning streak snapped.
Rebel Kate Hall snapped a 1-1 tie with 2:20 left in regulation to give the Rebels the win. Emma Liebegott gave SB the first-half lead, and goalie Liz Sargent made two saves.
Hannah Wahl tallied at 9:14 of the second half to tie the game for Mount Abe, and goalie Chessley Jackman stopped a dozen shots.
