Women invited to try ice hockey
MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Mystix women’s hockey team is sponsoring an “Adult Try Hockey for Free” skate at the Memorial Sports Center on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. This is a chance for women and men who have never tried hockey, or have little to no skating experience, to get on the ice. The minimum equipment needed is a hockey helmet, gloves, shin pads and stick. Skate rentals will also be free. There will be some basic instruction included in the ice time.
Also, the Mystix are looking for some new skaters to join their group. The team practices on Saturday afternoons, usually from 4:45 to 6:15 p.m. During each practice, skaters work on skills, game strategy and teamwork. It is a perfect place for beginners and players who want to develop their skills with a group of fun and friendly women.
For information on the “Adult Try Hockey for Free” and the Mystix, call Sue Staats at 802-352-4589.
