BRIAN PATRICK BARBER

SHOREHAM — Brian Patrick Barber, age 69, passed peacefully on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, at his home in Shoreham.

Born in Burlington on Aug. 22, 1956, Brian was the son of Everett and Florence (Kilpeck) Barber. He grew up in Richmond, where he received his early education and graduated from Mount Mansfield Union High School. Brian began his lifelong trucking career as a bulk milk hauler, earning a safe driving award with Farrell’s Distributing Corp for 1 million miles of safe driving. He was employed as a driver by Cabot Creamery for more than 25 years.

An avid hunter, Brian often shared his passion for the outdoors by taking his daughter, Gracelynn and nephews on hunting trips. His enthusiasm also extended to tractor pulling, where he was well known for his dedication and love of the sport. He volunteered at the benefit pull, generously contributing his time and energy to support the community. Frequently, he helped on the family farm by driving the silage truck, demonstrating his skills and deep connection to the land.

Brian is survived by his wife, Sonya (Wood) Barber; his daughter Tara Barber and her husband Joe Tatro; his sons Trevor Barber, Gunther Barber and his wife Abigail; and daughter Gracelynn Barber. He also is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Ladieu and Gerry Kolaczewski.

He is lovingly remembered by his cherished grandchildren: Lacey, Erick and Casey Barber, and Kendra Tatro of Tara, as well as his grandson Landon Barber of Gunther. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who held him dear.

Donations in Brian’s memory may be made to the Addison County Benefit Pull, P.O. Box 126, Vergennes, VT 05491.

A gathering in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 5 to 8 p.m, at Woodnotch Farms — Northwood Dairy, 2368 Route 17 East, Addison, VT.

Brian’s warmth, dedication, and love for his family and community leave a lasting legacy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Arrangements by Miller & Ketcham of Brandon. ◊
