Bristol’s Dunshee Block enters next chapter

JUSTIN SANDHERR, LEFT, purchased Bristol’s Dunshee Block — and resident businesses Bristol Suites and the Vermont Marketplace — from Carol and Tom Wells in February. He’s now working with innkeepers Niko Pruesse and Mark Adams and fellow staff to make slight updates to the business and continue collaborating with the community. Independent photo/Marin Howell

The historic three-story building at 19-21 Main St. was constructed by Noble F. Dunshee in the early 1870s. It initially housed Dunshee’s dry goods store and another business, a meeting hall, and apartments. Throughout the years, it’s been home to businesses like Peggy’s Beauty Shop, Bristol Cliffs Music Center, several clothing stores and a general store.
