BRISTOL — The Masons at Libanus Lodge in Bristol were one of many local organizations that found getting back to pre-COVID participation levels.

For some time now the group has been offering monthly breakfasts and cribbage nights. They have been offering Cribbage Nights for about 8-9 years now. Pre-Covid, attendance was strong, but the activity took a two year break due to COVID and it has struggled mightily since restarting. That has now changed.

Demand has grown enough that the Masons Lodge has added a second night of Cribbage each month. In addition to holding its usual Cribbage Night on the last Monday of the month (January 27 this month), an additional Cribbage Night will be held on the second Monday of each month (January 13 this month). Cribbage Night starts at 7 p.m. and gets done a little after 8 p.m., and all abilities and ages are welcome.

The Masons lodge also offers up breakfast on a monthly basis to raise funds for local charities. This month’s is on Sunday, Jan. 12, from 7:30-10 a.m. — or until the food runs out. All profits are donated to a person or group in need within the Five Town Area. This month’s menu includes homemade corned beef hash, scrambled eggs (or over easy if you ask us to flip them) bacon, sausage patties, sausage links, home fries, pancakes, blueberry pancakes, French toast, all with VT maple syrup and Cabot butter, assorted juices, and homemade apple bread pudding. And of course, there will be coffee. The cost for all of it is $9 for adults and children under 12 only $5. Libanus Lodge is located on the corner of North and Elm Streets in Bristol.
