Grant will help season new ACSD teachers
ELIZABETH PLACENCIA, A language and literature teacher at Middlebury Union Middle School, is one of only six Vermont educators to receive a 2023 Rowland Fellowship. She will spend next year creating a mentoring program within the Addison Central School District to support and sustain new teaching staff.

Elizabeth Placencia is finishing her second full year teaching language and literature skills to Middlebury Union Middle School 6th-graders, and there are still times when she feels — much like her young charges — like she’s still learning the ropes in a new setting with new people.
