MUHS boy’s hockey is defeated twice

MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School boys’ hockey team dropped a pair of games in the last week and fell to 4-3-1 heading into two games scheduled for this week.

The Tigers are set to host Burr & Burton on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 5 p.m. and Milton is scheduled to skate into the Memorial Sports Center at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

On last Wednesday, Jan. 19, host Harwood shut out the Tigers for the first two periods on the way to a 3-1 victory. Jacob Green led the Highlands with a pair of goals, and goalie Tieghen Fils-Aime made 22 saves.

Then, on this past Saturday, visiting Hartford scored the game’s final three goals, including a late empty-netter, and defeated the Tigers, 4-1.

The Hurricanes, who got goals from four players, took a 1-0 lead in the first period. Toby Draper, assisted by Kellan Bartlett, equalized for MUHS early in the middle period, but Hartford answered three minutes later and then put the game away with two goals in the final 4:10 of the third period.
