Man dodges sex offender registry

MONTPELIER — Joseph Berg, 25, of Lincoln was arraigned Monday on three felony counts of failing to comply with sex offender registry, the Attorney General’s Office announced. The charges brought are the result of an investigation conducted by Vermont State Police.

Berg pleaded not guilty at the arraignment in Vermont Superior Court, Addison Criminal Division. As of Monday, he was being held without bail on an alleged violation of probation relating, in part, to this case.

The Attorney General’s Office emphasizes that individuals charged with a crime are legally presumed innocent until their guilt is proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
