Bristol Police Log: Man cited for retail theft

Between May 10 and 23 Bristol police completed 53 foot patrols, conducted 13 traffic stops and checked security at Mount Abraham Union Middle/High School 14 times, at Bristol Elementary School 14 times and at local businesses 10 times.

Middlebury police were informed of the reported theft of a purse from a parked car on Wilson Road on May 26.

As of Monday, the incident was continuing to be investigated.

She was jailed at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility with bail set at $500.

Last week Vergennes police personnel pulled a Colchester man over for using a cellphone while driving that led to an arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. 

A very serious two-car crash on Bristol Road in Monkton on Monday morning sent two people to the hospital and closed the important north-south artery for at least two hours.
