Leslie H. Sargent Jr., 88, of Vergennes
VERGENNES — Leslie H. Sargent Jr., 88, passed away peacefully Dec. 7, 2025, in Vergennes, Vt. surrounded by his loved ones. Leslie was born Feb. 5, 1937, in Weybridge, Vt., to Leslie and Mae (Lamott) Sargent.
As a proud veteran, Leslie served his country as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army, exemplifying courage and commitment. His service was a reflection of the steady character he carried throughout his life. Known for his gentle demeanor and soft-spoken nature, Leslie found great joy in time spent with family. Whether gathered for special occasions or everyday moments, these times brought him deep happiness. He was a true gentleman whose presence brought a sense of warmth and calmness to any room and shall be remembered for generations to come.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Laurie, Leslie Jr. and his spouse Veronica, and Randy and his spouse Patty. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and great-grandfather to 14 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister Barb Martell and his brother Stanley Sargent.
Leslie was preceded by his parents, Leslie and Mae; his siblings Raymond, James, Charles, Eugene, Donald, Theodore, Saunnie, Viola, Patsy and Nancy; and extended family members.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.◊
